Can AFERIY solar panels actually provide 400W of power under good lighting conditions during actual use? |
No, that's not possible. We understand your expectations for product performance, but it's common in the solar panel industry for actual power output to differ from the nominal value. The reasons for this are as follows: First, the nominal power output is measured under standard test conditions, typically under ideal light intensity, temperature, and angle. (The nominal power output of portable solar panels is typically measured under standard test conditions (STC), i.e., a light intensity of 1000 W/m², a standard air mass (AM) spectral distribution of 1.5, a temperature of 25°C, and a vertical sun angle of 90°.) However, factors such as the actual installation environment, light intensity, temperature, and shading can affect the output power of solar panels. These conditions may not be fully met, resulting in an actual output power lower than the nominal power output. Therefore, under optimal conditions, the actual output power of a 400W solar panel would be around 300-320W. |
If the solar panel output values exceed the specified range (power, voltage or current) of the portable power station, will it damage the AFERIY portable power station? |
To protect your portable power station and connected devices, it is recommended that you ensure that the solar panel's output power, voltage, and current are within the AFERIY portable power station's specifications when purchasing or using it. |
Can the AFERIY portable power station remain permanently connected to a solar panel? |
Yes, but it is not recommended. The AFERIY product is designed to disconnect from the solar panel in the event of a power outage or insufficient energy conversion from the solar panel. The reasons for this are as follows:
Therefore, it is recommended to unplug the charging plug when there is no sunlight at night or when the energy conversion from the solar panel is insufficient, and charge when the light is sufficient and the energy conversion is stable. |
Why does the AFERIY power source make a noise when connected to a solar panel until there is no sun at night? |
The AFERIY portable power station is equipped with a relay, which serves to protect the power source and connected devices from damage caused by current anomalies such as overloads and short circuits. More specifically, a relay is an electrically controlled switching device that can be opened or closed when the current or voltage reaches a set value. In portable power sources, relays are commonly used to monitor current and voltage fluctuations to protect the power source and connected devices. Therefore, it is recommended to unplug the charging plug when there is no sunlight at night or when the energy conversion from the solar panel is insufficient, and charge when the light is sufficient and the energy conversion is stable. |
Does continuously connecting the solar panel consume energy from the AFERIY portable power station when there is no sun at night? |
This will consume a certain amount of energy. When the AFERIY portable power station is not receiving any power, for example when continuously connected to a solar panel, there will be a slight power consumption of approximately 30Wh per hour. However, if the AC switch is turned on, it will automatically turn off after 8 hours and can consume up to 20% of the power. Therefore, it is recommended to unplug the charging plug when the energy conversion from the solar panel is insufficient, and to charge when there is sufficient light and the energy conversion is stable. If you need to connect the solar panel when there is no sunlight at night, to reduce the power consumption of your portable power station, please follow these tips: turn off the AC switch and other input switches. |
Can the solar panel automatically resume charging the next day if it is continuously connected? |
After sunrise on the second day, it can automatically restart and resume charging. However, please note that the low sunlight during sunrise and sunset may cause the product to repeatedly charge and restart (equivalent to repeatedly plugging and unplugging the solar panel's charging plug) and repeatedly activate the AFERIY portable power station's internal relay. It is recommended to unplug the charging plug when the solar panel's energy conversion is insufficient and charge when the light is sufficient and the energy conversion is stable. |
Can solar panels with different voltages and currents be connected in series? |
No, it is not possible to connect solar panels with different voltages and currents in series. When connecting solar panels in series or parallel, it is important to ensure that the parameters of the solar panels (such as open-circuit voltage, short-circuit current, etc.) are similar to avoid efficiency losses or damage to equipment. In addition, it is necessary to use appropriate voltage regulators or charge controllers to manage and protect the charging process of the portable power station. To protect your portable power station and connected devices, please follow these recommendations: use solar panels of the same brand and with the same ratings when connecting them in series or parallel. If you connect two solar panels with different voltages and currents in series, any damage to the equipment will not be covered by our warranty. |
Is the AFERIY solar panel waterproof? |
The AFERIY solar panel has undergone extensive reliability testing and has an IP65 waterproof rating. However, to ensure a longer lifespan in suitable environments, we do not recommend prolonged exposure to rainwater. |
Are AFERIY solar panels compatible with other brands of portable power stations? |
Yes, the AFERIY solar panel is compatible with most other brands of portable power stations available on the market. However, specific compatibility depends on the interface and electrical specifications (output voltage, current, power) of the AFERIY solar panel and other brands of portable power stations. To ensure compatibility between the AFERIY solar panel and other brands of portable power stations, it is recommended that you carefully review the product specifications and compatibility information before purchasing, or contact AFERIY to confirm the solar input interface and electrical specifications of other brands of portable power stations.
